onigirazu (sushi sandwich)

  • Nori Sheets
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1.5 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 0.5 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 can tuna
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Sriracha

  • 1 avocado
  • cilantro
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 serrano sliced
  1. [RICE] Cook 1 cup rice.
    • 1 cup rice
    • 1.5 tsp rice vinegar
  2. Mix together rice vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce until sugar dissolves.

    • 0.5 tsp soy sauce
  3. Add vinegar mixture and furikake to rice and mix.

  4. Let rice cool.

  5. [PREP TUNA FILLING] Mix one can tuna with some greek yogurt, sriracha, and green onions.

  6. [ASSEMBLE] Lay nori sheet flat.

  7. Place one scoop of rice in the middle of the nori and form into a square that is offset by 45 degree from the nori sheet sides

  8. Place one scoop of tuna filling on top of rice.

  9. Add additional filling toppings (avocado slices, cucumber slices, serrano or jalapeno slices, cilantro).

  10. Add one more scoop of rice on top of filling.

  11. Fold nori sheet by pinching opposite sides of the nori over the filling and then folding over the top and bottom.

  12. Wrap the onigirazu in ceran wrap, the heat from the rice will soften the nori so that it is easy to eat.
